My Professional Background
My work is driven by a belief in the transformative impact of a holistic and strategic financial management approach, guiding clients to align their money with their vision for life. My career spans retail management, state government, and a journey into finance in 2015, where I’ve built a reputation for advocacy, and unwavering client commitment. With a degree in American Ethnic Studies from the University of Washington, I approach financial strategy through a people-first lens—blending cultural awareness with analytical insight to support clients in meaningful, personalized ways.
I’ve held Series 7 and 66 licenses and earned the CFP certification to reinforce my commitment to ethical, informed, and client-centered guidance. At Highland Private I’ve found an organization that aligns with my dedication to excellence and impact.
My Wealth Management Why
I learned the value of financial literacy firsthand, growing up as the youngest of eight children in a single-income household where money was scarce, and financial topics were never discussed. While my parents prioritized service and giving to the community, I realized the importance of financial education later in life and after many avoidable mistakes. This experience fuels my passion for empowering others to save early, make informed financial decisions, and secure their futures.
Equally important to me is creating space for vulnerable conversations, exploring money beliefs often shaped by childhood or cultural expectations, and working through emotions, fears, and aspirations together and without judgment. I am determined to demystify finances and provide tools that allow clients to take control of their financial lives with confidence. Witnessing clients achieve their goals and realize their dreams is a deeply personal mission.
My Personal Living Fully
Outside of work, I embrace life's many adventures. I enjoy fine wine, true crime podcasts, live music, and exploring cultures through travel and food. I also find solace in creative pursuits, often with a paintbrush in hand, a record spinning on the turntable, and my rescue cats nearby.
Deep, meaningful conversations with friends and family are important to me and I cherish the connections they bring. I also believe it’s never too late to learn – whether through formal study or life experiences – and I strive to set that example for my kids, always pushing myself to grow and improve. Family is at the heart of everything I love, rotating family poker nights with my siblings and cousins, spending time with my husband’s family in Georgia (he is also one of eight children), or cheering on our two teenagers in their sports activities. And no matter how busy life gets, we prioritize family dinners.
My Heart for Impact
Growing up in a family devoted to community service, I learned early that generosity isn’t about abundance—it’s about intention. My father’s mantra, "Invite everyone; we’ll just throw more spaghetti in the pot,” shaped my belief in resourcefulness, inclusivity, and always finding a way to help others.
Today, that spirit drives my work—guiding people toward financial clarity and peace of mind while striving to break down barriers to wealth accumulation, particularly for underrepresented communities. Reducing the racial and gender wealth gaps isn’t just a goal; it’s a responsibility.
At home, I instill these values in my children through daily reflections at dinner—three simple questions: What went well today? What was a struggle? How did you make someone’s life easier? These moments teach them to celebrate wins, face challenges, and actively uplift others.
True impact comes from small, consistent acts of kindness, stewardship, and empowerment. I’m committed to making financial freedom more accessible, fostering a world where everyone—regardless of background—has the opportunity to thrive.
